Slacker...

Yes, admittedly I have been an extreme slacker. My poor blog has suffered for it, but I promise I have had very good reasons for it. 

I'm pregnant.

That's my reason!

Haha, in all seriousness, this pregnancy has taken sooo much out of me. Exhausted...doesn't even cover it! But I am so anxious to meet our precious Drew! 

This past weekend Adam and I got to enjoy some alone time... Noah went to his Deda's house so we decided to go on a little date.

And although it was 'our date' we decided to do a little shopping... for our boys. Gosh that sounds really strange to say... our boys! 

Anyways we got Noah set up for spring and summer... and started on baby Drew's wardrobe. We also got Drew's 'coming home' outfit!

P.S. I'm 28 weeks now.... only 12 weeks to go!!

Thursday's Thought..

I have discovered the blessings in my life... those people who hold me up, keep me strong and brighten up my life.

And... I have had many lessons come in and out of my life. Those who struggled to see me, accept me, and really appreciate what I have to offer. Although they had to go, they were not meant to be a part of the bigger plan, they held their own importance. They taught me lessons about myself...both good and bad... and helped me to become a stronger person. I learned not to view myself through their eyes, but through my own...

I am so thankful for the blessings in my life... I love and cherish them with all of my heart. But I am also thankful for the lessons... without them my story might not be what it is today... and that is something I wouldn't risk for anything.

Sweet Tooth

In honor of this sweet holiday, I hit the kitchen and made some of our household's favorites.... cupcakes!

Strawberry & Cream...and Chocolate Fudge!

They were almost too pretty to eat....almost!

I added some sweet sugar pearls... I was shocked to find these little gems at Wal-Mart of all places!! Way to go Wal-Mart for stepping up your game!

Noah was eager to taste test! He obviously didn't want to wait until Momma finished taking pictures!

My Son, the Genius!

As his mother, of course I am a bit biased... maybe I do think he's the cutest, sweetest, smartest, most precious thing in this world!! But I'm his mother, that's what I do! :)

He just turned the 'ever so curious, always into something, soaks up everything like a sponge' age of 2 back in November... and it has been quite the rollercoaster ride... to say the least!! I thought my patience had been tested before Noah hit this stage.... I didn't even know the beginning of it! And I really had no idea just how much patience I had until those terrible two's stomped their way into my life....

Tantrums? Oh, just every five minutes.... Sass? He's got it by the truckloads..... Temper? I think I've met my match.....Stubbornness? He is in no shortage of that..... And the ability to turn my frazzled nerves into a melted heart with just one smile? Oh yeah, he's got that one down pat too!

A part from all of the ups and downs, emotional mood swings, and temper tantrums... this stage has also been an exciting one! Yes, I said it... the terrible two's are not all bad. He has grown so much more during this stage... Not just in height and weight, but he has developed mentally so quickly... Leaving me completely impressed.

Now let me take this time to brag a bit.... not much just a little! ;)

My little sponge can count to 10 in English and count to 5 in Spanish. His vocabulary in Spanish is growing as well, he can now say about 5-6 words in Spanish and use them correctly in a sentence. He knows all of his shapes, not just the basic ones but also irregular shapes as well. He knows all of his colors, and not just the primary ones! And he has made great progress with his ABC's!! All at the age of 2!

Yes, my son is a genius! And as his mother, I'm allowed to think so :)

Oh and did I mention he's pretty darn handsome too?! :)

First Set of Wheels...

For Christmas, Noah's "big" present was his 4-wheeler...his very first set of wheels! Until today, the poor thing has been too sick to take it for a spin...and let me tell you he was just itching to give it a whirl!

Today he finally got the chance... and boy did he have a BLAST! Adam and I had so much fun watching him get so excited over it.

Lol! I cannot help but laugh when I see this picture. He was in a hurry to go check something out, and his little hat caught some wind...hence the crazy pom pom action! And oh that worried look on his face... not sure if he would get to his destination quick enough!

Comparing his wheels to ours... Don't worry you'll get there one day!.... a long long LONG time from now.

Today's the Day!

Woohoo! Yay! Yipee! The day has finally come... today we find out if we are having a boy or girl! 

My appointment isn't until 3:30 this evening and I've been up since 7 am just counting down the minutes... I'm not patient whatsoever so having to wait is killing me. 

Adam can't come along with me today because he has to stay home with Noah... my poor baby has a sinus infection and an ear infection in both ears. With this being only the 2nd time he's ever been sick, it's definitely taking a toll on him. Adam isn't thrilled that he can't come today, but it gives me a chance to find some special way to tell him myself what the baby's gender is.

And Noah isn't the only one who is sick... I've got the same funk he has. Luckily Adam hasn't caught it and is off work until the beginning of the year so he's able to take care of us. I know Noah is just as ready as I am to kick this nasty cold's butt!

Despite feeling under the weather (to put it nicely) I can't help but be excited for what this day has in store! 

*Cross your fingers that baby cooperates today!*

Merry Christmas!

 I hope you all have had a very merry Christmas! We've had a blast around here!

On Thursday, we traveled down to my parent's house!

 

Look at this sweet picture I snapped of my mom and my son, Noah. He sure does love his 'Marmie' and definitely enjoys all of that attention! 

Molly just could not wait to tear into some gifts... oh the anticipation!

And this was Christmas morning... I snapped it before Noah woke up... it was a special time for Adam and I to prepare for and await Noah's excitement... I think we were just as excited, if not a little more.

We are all so happy that Adam gets to spend 2 whole weeks at home!

The Bump!

On Sunday, I will be 16 weeks along... and the bump has already showed up! My doctor warned me that this time around I would probably start showing much sooner.... he wasn't kidding! 

But he also told me I would be over the morning sickness by now...however it seems as though round 2 has hit!

Anyways, before my monthly check-up with the baby doctor, I had Adam snap a couple of pics of the "baby bump"

 Unfortunately I didn't realize that I was wearing black on top of having a dark background... so the bump may be a little harder to see....

But it's definitely there!

Holidays '11

On Saturday Adam got the tree down from the attic and in a group effort we all got the tree up and decorated. And I couldn't wait to put presents under the tree so I started wrapping right away!! Now the tree is totally complete... gifts and all! 

After we got the tree up we all sat in front of the tv and watched some Christmas movies!
